The amplitude ratio is called the amplitude response of the circuit. The phase
relation is called phase response. Since the Fourier Coefficient Cn
already represents the complex amplitude of a rotating phasor, linear distortions
are calculated using the complex Fourier Series (equation(16)) in
systems engineering. The calculation can be limited to n ≥ 0 because of the symmetry of the spectras. The relations now are: |

Within the scope of this programm, the following examples of linear distortion
are discussed: the distortionless transmission (of a phase compensating
voltage divider),low-pass filtering (R-C combination as a simple low pass
filter, double low pass-filers), high-pass filtering (R-C combination as
a simple high pass filter), configurations with a band-pass-filter character
(series resonant circuit, R-C combination) and band-elemination filter (R-C
combination). Use the experiments on linear distortion to comprehend the examples. |
