Parseval des Chênes, Marc-Antoine

born: 04.27.1755 Rosieres-aux-Salines,
died: 08.16.1836 Paris

Little is known about the life of this nobleman. He was imprisoned in 1792 for being a royalist.
His publications (there were only 5) deal with differential equations and series representation. He is famous for a formula he published in 1799.

It represents the integrals of two Fourier series P(u), Q(u) as a series of the products of element wisely corresponding coefficients. Later, many analogue relations were named after Parseval des Chenes.
